Event Type: Road Race
Start Time: 6:00pm
Parking Info: We suggest parking at Pan and Fork and riding to the start because of the limited parking at and near CRMS on Thompson Creek Road.
Warm-Up: Remember to obey all traffic laws and please warm-up on Spring Gulch Road (CR 108). In order to decrease our impact on local evening commuter traffic please do not warm up on Hardwick Bridge Road (CR 109).
Location: The Spring Gulch Hill Climb will start near the entrance to Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) in Carbondale. To get to the start and CRMS, take Highway 133 towards the Main Street roundabout in Carbondale (7/11 intersection). Take the first right coming from highway 82 at 7/11 onto West Main Street and proceed about 1.1 miles to CRMS, 1493 County Road 106. Limited parking is available in the pullouts on Thompson Creek Road, just past CRMS.
Course Description: This year’s race will be 6.6 miles from start to finish gaining around 1,700 vertical feet. The course averages over 6% but begins with a much steeper climb. For this year’s finish, racers will continue past the Spring Gulch parking lot another 0.6 miles. The finish line will be located on Thompson Creek Road where FS Road 306 cuts off to the left. This is the first dirt road on the left past the Nordic center.

Cancellation policy: PLEASE DO NOT PHONE OR TEXT THE RACE DIRECTOR FOR RACE CANCELLATION INFORMATION. In the event of inclement weather on race day, the Aspen Cycling Club Board of Directors will communicate with the Race Director to determine the Club’s ability to operate a race that is reasonably safe for competitors, and, for mountain bike races, preserves the integrity of local trails. All racers should assume that a final decision will be made at the start line by the race director. However, when possible, the Board of Directors will alert racers of a race cancellation prior to the start by emailing the Club email group, and posting on the website and the ACC Facebook page by 5pm.
