Brush Creek–Deadline–Tom Blake – Mountain bike

Location: RFTA Intercept lot, Brush Creek Bike Path
Party: Post Race Party at Slow Groovin BBQ
Start Time: 6:00pm, please be prepared for cold and possibly darker conditions at the finish.
Course Description: Riders will begin at the Brush Creek Intercept lot and ride the Brush Creek Bike Path toward Snowmass Village, then turn onto Ditchline, ride Viewline to Deadline, turn right onto Deadline, and descend to Highline Trail. Riders will then turn left onto Highline Trail and ride down to Owl Creek Road and cross to Tom Blake Trail (traffic marshals will be in place for the road crossing). Riders will follow Tom Blake all the way to Funnel Work Road where you will make a sharp left and then go up the road  25 meters to the finish on the work road. You will finish under the Elk Camp Gondola. See revised map for details.

Snowmass Discovery Circuit – Mountain Bike

NEW COURSE FOR 2019 DUE TO SLEIGH RIDE CLOSURE (please be aware that there might be last minute changes).

PLEASE LISTEN CAREFULLY TO INSTRUCTIONS/DIRECTIONS AT START AND LOOK AT WHITE BOARD FOR START TIMES AND WAVES

Description:

  • Climb work road from Snowmass Base Village
  • Climb Discovery to intersection with Village Bound
  • Climb Village Bound to work road to Cross Mountain
  • Take Cross Mountain to French Press
  • Take French Press down and continue onto Viking and then Verde and then work road down towards Base Village
  • At the Base Village, turn left and continue up work road
    • Short Course finish below stage
  • Long course continues up and climb Discovery to intersection of Village Bound
  • Descend Village Bound down work road down Fanny Hill singletrack
  • At Base Village, turn back up road to and climb road
    •  Long Course finish below stage

 

Short course, one long loop connecting Discovery, Cross Mountain, and French Press with finish below stage on work road above base village. Approximately 8 miles.

Long course, full short course loop plus a small loop on Discovery/Village Bound, Fanny Hill descent, with finish below stage on work road above Base Village. Approximately 12.6 miles.

Glassier–Buckhorn – Mountain bike

Location: Hooks Spur Road, Basalt

Parking Information: Parking is limited at the start area, so plan to park in nearby Willits and ride to the start.

Registration:  At the small dirt parking lot at Hook’s Lane trailhead

Course Description:  New for 2019: All racers start near Rock Bottom Ranch, ride up-valley on the road and take a right onto the Glassier Open Space trail. Riders will proceed to the Glassier Bike/Hike Trail (course marshals will open and close the trail gates) and climb to the top, then proceed onto the Buckhorn Traverse. Riders will follow the Buckhorn Traverse until a right turn onto Lower Buckhorn, which they will descend to the Rio Grande bike path. They will ride the Rio Grande for 500 meters until the path meets up with Hooks Spur Road, at which point riders will take a slight left onto Hooks Spur and proceed to the start/finish area. Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and Advanced Men will complete a second lap, while all other categories will finish after one lap.

Wave 1: 6:00pm – Open Men 2 laps
Wave 2: 6:05 pm – Open Women, Advanced Men 2 laps ( there will be a lap cut-off time)
Wave 3: 6:10 pm – All Other Categories

Seven Star Circuit Race – Mountain bike

Parking Info:  We suggest parking at the Rodeo or Intercept lots.

Location: Seven Star Trail Snowmass. Park at Rodeo lot or Intercept.

Course Description: Racers will start the Snowmass Village Recreation Center parking lot and ride Horse Ranch Drive to the double track to the start of Rim Trail. Riders will climb up North Rim Trail to the intersection of  Seven Star Trail, then bear right onto Seven Star and descend down and back through Stallion Ct. Finish will up on double track. The long course will be two laps and the short course will be one lap.
