Based on member feedback, we are changing next week’s race from the team time trial to the Rim Trail mountain bike race. The final Aspen Cycling Club race of the 2014 season will take place onWednesday, September 3rd at 6:00PM in Snowmass.
– The Maroon Bells TTT is cancelled. It is being replaced by the Rim Trail MTB race.
– The Rim Trail MTB race will be a ZERO point race. No points will be awarded for racers or volunteers.
COURSE: The Rim Trail cross country mountain bike race provides some of the most fun-filled single-track racing of the season. Racers will head up Fanny Hill on the service road and make a RIGHT turn onto the Sleigh Ride Trail and ride it to Divide Road. After taking a RIGHT onto Divide Rd, a fast road decent will take racers to a hard LEFT turn onto the start of the Rim Trail. Then it’s singletrack party time, heading up the main climb and across the roller-coaster that is Snowmass’ premier single-track! The finish will be just above the Rodeo Grounds on the gravel path at Horse Ranch, as usual. If you like fast buffed single-track, THIS COURSE ROCKS!
Registration/Start will be at the end of the Snowmass Village Mall at Fanny Hill. All area riders are encouraged to come out and race. Advance registration is not required. Racers can register and pay at the START. Entry fees are $5 for ACC members and $10 for nonmembers. Prepaid members must check in before the race start.
PARKING is available at the Rodeo Lot and in Snowmass Village and at Base Village, but racers are always encouraged to ride to the start for a warm up as it’s more environmentally friendly.

CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event of inclement weather on race day, the Aspen Cycling Club Board of Directors will communicate with the race director to determine the club’s ability to operate a race that is reasonably safe for competitors and, for mountain bike races, preserves the integrity of local trails. All racers should assume that a final decision will be made at the start line by the race director. However, when possible, the Board of Directors will alert racers of a race cancellation prior to the start by emailing the club email roster, posting on the website, and the ACC Facebook page by 5 p.m. PLEASE DO NOT PHONE OR TEXT THE RACE DIRECTOR FOR RACE CANCELLATION INFORMATION
