Missouri Heights RR vs. Salida Omnium

ACC racers,

We found out yesterday that Saturday, July 26th’s Missouri Heights Road Race is taking place the same weekend as the Salida Omnium.  We’re taking an informal poll here.  Were you planning on heading to Salida?  But bummed to miss the growing classic that is Missouri Heights?  There is a chance that the club may could reschedule Missouri Heights for later in August.  Please enter your comments below to help us decide.

    Yes,
    I was bummed to see the conflict. I was planning on racing Salida and would love to see the Missouri Heights race rescheduled.

    Yes, Cat and I will be in Salida for this race. It is one of my favorite club races, but we also have a lot of races in August.

    I will be out of town that weekend so point is moot for me but I’d suggest either running it as scheduled or rescheduling to 8/16 if feedback re Salida is great enough

    No conflict here; I don’t think I would go through the brain damage of trying to reschedule. We all miss a race or two due to those types of conflicts.

    If we can alleviate the conflict without creating another that’s as bad or worse I think it’s a good idea to re-schedule. Maybe August 30th?

    August 23rd Mountain States Cup race at Eldora near Boulder
    August 30th Stage race in SE Colo (maybe not a bad weekend for Misou Hts)
    September 6th Ride for the Cure & Mountain States Cup race in Breckenridge
    September 13th RVFOV Arbany Kittle volunteer day

    I have not ridden the Omnium before, but I would like to try it this year. What if the Missourri Heights race was rescheduled for the next week-end of August 2nd?

    I would be missing this race because I would be out of town so out of egotistic intrest I would like it to be rescheduled.

    The stage race in SE colorado on the 30th has just been cancelled. I too will be doing the duathlon on the 16th of August. If I can make this race great. If not, then so be it, but in my opinion it is one of the best races of the year.

    I would like to race in Salida. A reschedule of the Missouri Hieights race would be ok by me.

    Thanks for all the comments & scheduling information. As we’re bound to upset 8-10 people no matter what day the race is held, we’re going to stick with the original race date, this coming Saturday. Enjoy Salida if that’s where you’ll be this weekend; we’ll look to move Missouri Heights back into August for next year.
