We are ON for our preview day of the tree farm course tomorrow (June 27th) from 9-5pm in El Jebel.
Details for the Saturday pre-ride are as follows:
Parking: Heading west on Highway 82, turn right at the light at the Whole Foods intersection. At the first T make a left, and then make your first right onto the dirt to the parking for the Win Health Institute. Park there (at the front end of the lake).
The Course: Each lap is 5.50 miles and contains 750 vertical feet of climbing. The race will begin with .8 miles of dirt road and double track, giving ample time to pass before the course hits the single track (and a steep climb) and the fun begins!
The course is very different than the other MTB races offered by the club. While there is little in the way of sustained climbs, what climbing there is tends to be (very) steep. The course is very technical, with rocks, roots, sharp switchbacks, and some inventive man-made features set to challenge a rider’s skill. If there was ever an ACC race to leave the hardtail at home and bring the trail bike, this is the one!
WAIVER: Because the race is on private land, all riders will be required to complete a liability waiver at registration.
